Description

Had to break out some old equipment for this one. Not yet high enough for the CDK24. (-:

This was taken using an old Canon G12 mounted to a Celestron AVX mount.

One exposure @ 15-sec ISO 400 for the background. Then 84 15-sec exposures @ 400 ISO debayered, registered and aligned in PI using Comet Alignment followed by ImageIntegration. This is then screened over the background image. So just 15 seconds for the stars and 84 x 15 seconds for the comet.

Sky was 21.5 SQM with 15-minute FWHM down to 1.5" – extremely steady for some ongoing CDK24 projects. (-;

Description: Used Canon Hack Development Kit (CHDK) to increase G12 exposure limit from 15 seconds to 60 seconds. This is 55 x 30s @ ISO 1600 for less noise with more detail and color.
